Previously, seven locations of logistics service provider GLS Netherlands were sustainably lit with LED from Saled. In January, the GLS depots in Wemeldinge and Alkmaar were also completed with new indoor and outdoor lighting.
The lamps at GLS Wemeldinge with conventional lighting that hung in the hall of the parcel service were converted to our retrofit solution. This means that the current fixtures were still in good condition. We converted existing fixtures of conventional lighting so that they are suitable for the use of LED lamps. In this case, LED tubes. We prevent capital destruction by using retrofit. It is very easy to adapt existing fixtures. You can then immediately start saving on energy bills.
New lamps were also installed in the distribution hall at GLS Alkmaar by using retrofit. The location is equipped with new escape route lighting, allowing employees to leave the building safely in the event of an emergency.
Also outside sustainable lighting
In total, three rooms were fitted with LED lighting in Wemeldinge and four rooms in Alkmaar. In addition to the hall, the lighting in the office and the outside lighting were also replaced. Completely new fixtures were installed here. LED ceiling lights were installed in the office in Wemeldinge. LED ceiling lights are often placed at a central point in the ceiling. In this way, the light is evenly distributed throughout the room. In addition to the beautiful, even light distribution, the Saled ceiling lights also have a sleek appearance. Alkmaar got LED panels in the office space.
Floodlights were installed outside in both buildings. A floodlight, also known as a construction lamp, is a large, bright LED lamp that can be used for multiple purposes. For GLS Wemeldinge, the floodlight was used to light up the depot, the space where the parcels are stored. In Alkmaar, downlights were also installed outside and in the toilet areas.
